Humanities and Social Sciences

Humanities and Social Sciences covers a broad range of topics to help develop students’ understanding of the world around them and the society in which they live. There is a strong emphasis on both skills and content. The skills that students learn from the study of HASS include literacy, numeracy, research skills, critical thinking and enquiry. Each year level from Year 7 to Year 10 covers History and Geography. There are also units on Government, Law and Economics.

In Years 11 and 12, students can specialise in areas of Society and Environment including Modern History, Geography and Economics.

Its not everyday you see a classroom take to the skies however, after much preparation, the second storey on the latest secondary classroom block has been lifted into place. After the modules have been secured stairs and rails will be fitted, and then work on the interior fitout will commence.

2018 Fair and Open Day

Geography Trip

The Department of Parks and Wildlife recently led the Year 11 Geography Students on an excursion to the site of the 2014 Parkerville fire in the Perth foothills.

The class were taught how to investigate the impact of bushfire and how deploy the eqipment and measures used in the analysis and understanding of a fire site.

2018 Year 12 Ball
