Science

Science is a compulsory subject in Years 7 to 10. Students cover all of the basic areas of scientific study: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics. Students also engage with all of the aspects of Science: process, critical thinking, and scientific knowledge. Students in Extension classes may be involved in more complex experiments and studies.

Courses in Year 11 and 12 build on the skills and scientific content covered in the earlier years. Upper School subjects include Integrated Science, Physics, Chemistry and Human Biology.

YohFest Success

The Amazing Mr Steve Capener and his gifted Dance and Drama students recently took on the best from colleges across the State, and managed to secure an Incredible TWO places in the 2017 Yohfest finals! Well Done everyone!

 

2018 Senior Athletics Carnival

It was a somewhat soggy Winter Carnival at Bortolo Park as the senior students battled it out in Track and Field events. The rain didn't dampen the spirits of competitors and all enjoyed a great event. Well Done everyone!

Geography Trip

The Department of Parks and Wildlife recently led the Year 11 Geography Students on an excursion to the site of the 2014 Parkerville fire in the Perth foothills.

The class were taught how to investigate the impact of bushfire and how deploy the eqipment and measures used in the analysis and understanding of a fire site.

Andrew Hastie on Campus

Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie was recently interviewed by Year 10 Media students at Austin Cove Baptist College.

Mr Hastie encouraged students to set challenging goals for themselves, and then work hard to achieve them while they are still young. He said "Once you know how tough you can be, it empowers you to overcome life's obstacles".

Students were nervous but excited at the prospect of meeting Mr Hastie, and will use this experience to further develop their media skills.
